Recent Breakout Editing Projects
-Christian romance Author Sarah Monzon had written a wonderful story, but she believed a professional editor could take it to the next level. During the editing process, she reworked her opening to increase empathy toward her heroine, and the book has hit number one on Amazon more than once. I've since edited several more books for Sarah. "Finders Keepers" won the Selah award, and "The Esther Paradigm" is on the INSPY 2018 awards long list (hoping Sarah wins!)
-Christian historical western fiction Before deciding whether she needed a content edit or a copyedit, Crystal sent her manuscript to me for a sample edit and an evaluation. After editing several pages and previewing the manuscript, I noted that she'd done excellent work on the content and that a copyedit would be perfect. Crystal moved forward with a copyedit of her debut novel and launched her book knowing she's delivering the best possible reading experience.
-Nonfiction Author Garry Matheny spent years researching the Exodus, making numerous trips to Egypt. He wrote a nonfiction account of the path he believes the Israelites took, and he hired Breakout Editing to copyedit his highly detailed book. As a nonfiction indie author, he made style adjustments that fit his book and broke out of the editing box. I supported his decision and edited for style consistency.
